Emergency & Medical ID Cards

From Prime ID – ID solutions to keep people safe when it matters most

An emergency ID card can save crucial time if someone falls ill, has an accident, or becomes separated from carers or colleagues. It’s a simple but powerful way to make sure
vital information is always on hand.

📋 1. What to include

  • Full name

  • Emergency contact name & number

  • Key medical notes (allergies, conditions, medication)

  • Optional: blood type, NHS number, or GP surgery

💡 Prime ID tip: Keep it short. Space is limited, and responders only need the essentials.

🩺 2. Who can benefit?

  • Staff with health conditions or allergies

  • Children, pupils, or service users in care

  • Lone workers or those travelling for work

  • Outdoor instructors, drivers, and volunteers

🧩 3. Front vs rear layout

  • Front: photo, name, and clear “In Case of Emergency” heading

  • Rear: emergency contact and medical info

  • Keep fonts large enough to read quickly in low light or stress.

💧 4. Materials that last

  • Choose a PVC or Eco-PVC card with optional lamination – waterproof, durable, and wallet-friendly.

  • Add a lanyard or badge holder if the card needs to stay visible at all times.

  • Our single ID holders allow the display of vital front information whilst any personal information remains hidden until needed on the rear

🔁 5. Keep details current

Many organisations order emergency cards alongside staff IDs. We can match the layout and colour-code them for easy recognition - for example, red stripe for emergency IDs, blue for standard staff cards.

💡 Final tip

Many organisations use medical ID cards not just for emergencies, but also for hidden disabilities or allergies. We can design discreet layouts that keep sensitive details visible only when needed.
